The Story Behind the Queso
When Jhonatan Aldama opened Kesos Tacos in Austin in 2014, the queso started as a finishing touch. Then it became a signature. Then Austin started calling it the best queso in Austin — and the name Kesos was born from it.
In 2019, Kesos entered the Austin Quesoff and won two of five categories — beating out dozens of Austin restaurants and earning coverage on KXAN Studio 512. That queso hasn’t changed since.
Today, every taco at Kesos comes with queso. Not as an option. As a standard. Because Austin deserves queso on everything.
