A Second Home in Northwest Austin
Kesos Tacos has officially arrived in Northwest Austin. The Austin-based taco brand — known for putting queso at the center of everything it serves — opened its second location on December 7, 2024 at 3901 C Spicewood Springs Road, bringing its bold breakfast and lunch menu to the residential neighborhoods of Spicewood Springs.
The opening marks a major milestone for the brand, which first launched in 2014 near the University of Texas campus on MLK Boulevard. The Spicewood Springs location is designed to serve a different side of Austin: families, remote workers, and neighbors looking for a fast, dependable, and genuinely great taco experience in their own backyard.
Why Spicewood Springs
Founder Jhonatan Aldama was deliberate about bringing Kesos to this part of Northwest Austin. The Spicewood Springs corridor — a well-established residential area northwest of the Domain — is home to families, young professionals, and a tight-knit neighborhood community that had been underserved when it came to high-quality fast-casual breakfast and lunch options.
"At our current MLK location, we primarily cater to UT students and professionals stopping by for breakfast or lunch during their workday. By opening in Spicewood Springs, a more residential area, we aim to reach individuals and families in their homes and create a neighborhood dining experience."
— Jhonatan Aldama, Founder & Owner, Kesos Tacos
The Spicewood Springs neighborhood sits along the 183 corridor in Northwest Austin (78759), close to the Domain, Q2 Stadium, and major tech employers in the area — making it a natural fit for a brand that has built its reputation on fast service, warm hospitality, and food that never disappoints.
What's on the Menu
The full Kesos menu is available at the Spicewood Springs location, anchored by the breakfast and lunch tacos that made the brand a neighborhood staple on the east side of campus. Signature options include the Migas Taco, Pork Carnitas Taco, and Fried Avocado Taco — all served with Kesos's signature queso poured on top, not on the side.
The menu also includes nachos, burritos, salads, and sides. Aldama noted that seasonal and limited-time items will rotate through the menu to keep things dynamic and give regulars a reason to keep coming back. The location serves breakfast and lunch, with hours running Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM–8:00 PM, Sunday 8:00 AM–7:00 PM.
Built for the Neighborhood
The Spicewood Springs location features a bright, welcoming exterior with Kesos's signature yellow canopy and a comfortable outdoor patio — designed to feel like a natural gathering spot for the neighborhood, not just a quick stop. Inside, the space reflects the brand's energetic, hospitality-first personality.
For Northwest Austin residents searching for breakfast tacos near Spicewood Springs, lunch tacos near the Domain, or the best queso tacos in Northwest Austin, Kesos Tacos is now a few minutes away.
